A good value and a good grinder!

We have had our Delonghi since 2004 and it has worked great for the whole time - until last Sunday. It was overloaded in order to make a big batch and the motor burned out. Our fault, not the grinder's. I would recommend this grinder to any one but the most elitist among the coffee "connoisseurs" who wouldn't be happy unless they spent $100+.

Okay for the price.

The silver portion of the finish is paint, not stainless steel.
The lights are meaningless...essentially timers.
Cord retractor is great.

I use this grinder for grinding spices. I am sure it would work equally as well for grinding coffee. It works like a charm and is easy to clean. Great product.

This is the second grinder I have owned. The first was an old Braun that worked well for years until I lost it during a move. I purchased this grinder because of the seemingly easy to use feature for making coarse, medium, and fine grinds. I was somewhat disappointed when I realized that the difference was only in the duration of the grinding. I was further disappointed when I noticed, particularly with coarse-medium grinds, many of the beans are unground or ground unevenly. In fact, all the grinds are uneven. What I usually get is a mix of really finely ground beans with really course grinds, regardless of how long I grind it. Varying the amount of beans does not improve this. I give this two stars for lack of precision.

I would give it six stars, if I could!

The DeLonghi DCG39 Electric Grinder, 2.36-Ounce Capacity is ***the*** best coffee bean grinder I have ever used (and I have had quite the collection of them)! The settings are easy to use and precise, and it's attractive looking, too. I liked it so much that I bought one as part of a wedding gift, too. I will buy more as gifts in the future, for my coffee-snob friends and family.
