Indoor Grill Perfection

My wife and I bought this as a gift about a year ago for our oldest daughter. Her ravings about the grill
prompted us to buy one for ourselves. Its versatility and ease of cleaning make it a working couples dream. Kudos to the design engineer on this one!

Love this grill

This is a great product. I did research and more costly options fell short. Some come with no glass cover? Some don't get hot enough? Some don't have the grease tray below to keep from smoking. After brief skepticism, i find this thing can do it all. No flat surface, this little grill gets hot enough to leave grill marks on salmon, and chicken or anything. You can place the cover on to keep burgers moist.

Its worked out so well, I have just purchased my second grill to have more surface area. Now I can grill up the veggies while the steaks sizzle for fajitas! Clean up is pretty easy though i would recommend a decent grill brush to get in the grooves. I have read you can toss it in the dishwasher as well. I purchased my first one a while ago when it was almost $80 and it was well worth it. Now that it was reduced, its a no-brainer.

I've been very happy with this grill. Just make sure you put water in the
pan below so that you don't smoke the kitchen. Use approx. 3/4 of a cup.

The cleaning is not that difficult because the finish on the grill is almost
a non-stick. I just use hot water, soap and a dobie and have had no problems.

Grill paint/coating wearing off after 2 months

The first product delivered to me had a missing knob for the glass lid - had to return and wait 2 more weeks for everything to get settled. Minus one star.

On veggies (e.g. portobello mushrooms) it's great. On meats it's a hit or miss. Steaks and evenly-sliced meats turn out okay. But even for cooking chicken breast on this thing (it doesn't recommend thighs or drums), I still had to pop it in the microwave to get it fully cooked without burning it further. Minus one star.

And the clincher - after 10 weeks of moderate use (probably grilled 6 or 7 times in that span) and always washing the grill plate using only a sponge, I discovered that some of the coating of the grill is chipping off! I don't know if it's paint, non-stick coating, or something else, but I am definitely no longer using this and eating paint with my food. Minus one star.

It's beyond the return policy window with Amazon, but I'll see if DeLonghi can do something about this. Disappointed at what I thought to be a trusted brand.

Great Indoor Grill

We live in a condo that doesn't allow outdoor grills of any kind so when I found this indoor grill on amazon.com I figured I would give it a try. I've had it about a month and use it very often. I've grilled steaks, shrimp, burgers, vegetables and more and it comes out delicious. I find it heats up quickly and the food cooks fast. I line the bottom drip pan with foil for easy cleanup. The grill grate does need some elbow grease to get it cleaned but I usually rinse it off as soon as it cools and let it sit for a bit to soften up then I use one of those little kitchen brushes and it comes clean. It does take a lot of space for storage so keep that in mind when purchasing as it was recommened to store flat.
