Exceeds Expectations
Customer Rating:This machine is great. I honestly didn't expect it to froth milk as well as it does. It heats up and makes espresso very quickly, and it looks great doing it. It's a little loud when making the espresso because it vibrates so much, but if you just put a finger on top it dampers the sound. Overall, a win!
great product
Customer Rating:i'm a first time espresso maker and this product has got me hooked! i wasnt looking for something super expensive since i've never had a coffee maker before (college student) and when i saw this for 85 on amazon i decided to bite. what really sold me was one of the reviews i read that said something like "it takes about 2 minutes from saying i want coffee to having coffee in your cup" and it really is true. i'm usually in a rush in the morning (who isnt?) so the fact that its so easy and quick..and delicious really makes me happy. i've only had it for about a week so i cant say anything about its longevity but i'm really impressed so far!
Good machine, good price
Customer Rating:We've had this machine for about a month now. It's a little snug, but possible, to use two regular-sized round mugs. The lid on the water tank makes it a little awkward to fill it from the dispenser in my refrigerator door. Other than those trifles, I have no complaints. It looks cool, it makes good coffee, and the steaming wand has adjustable intensity, which I like. I like the built-in tamper, too: one fewer thing to be hanging around on my counter.
Excellent purchase
Customer Rating:Awesome machine, once you make 1 or 2 expressos, its a really easy process. The expresso it makes is great, the machine is excellent quality, and it only takes about 15 seconds to actually make the expresso once you've prepared the grinds. It takes about 30 - 45 seconds to warm up for the first one, and then you can pretty much make a second and third with no warm up time. I bought this for work to share with a co-worker, we use it 3 or 4 times a day and it has worked perfectly so far - we've had it for about 3 months. Needless to say, work morale is way up! I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for a great quality expresso maker.
Great machine
Customer Rating:I had a Breville cafe Roma machine for 4 years and when it gave out I was looking for a quality pump machine but at a great price. Breville uses aluminum in some of the parts and the machine corroded inside the filter. Plus their customer service is awful and while I got the unit at a discount, it was still $150. I purchased this one a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I only use it for espresso as I already have a Nespresso milk frother that is quiet and fantastic. The espresso has a wonderful flavor, the drink comes out fairly hot and has a nice crema. I purchased it with a rebate plus discount and saved $40! I use it everyday so the machine will get a lot of use, but based on other reviews, I am confident this one will go the distance. The pressure of the steam is obvious and it's easy to clean. Tamping the espresso is important and I like the tamper attached to the unit. The profile on the counter is small and the design is, as they say retro (though the unit is mostly plastic). Unless you're in the market to spend several hundred on a machine I would recommend this to the espresso fan. I use Starbucks espresso ground fine. If you add up how much a daily espresso from Starbucks costs, ($4) this machine will pay for itself in no time and other than it not being searing hot, I give it high marks (for the record the Breville made espresso less hot).
